Also known as: Alprazolam
Ambulax (alprazolam) is a benzodiazepine (ben-zoe-dye-AZE-eh-peen). It is thought that alprazolam works by enhancing the activity of certain neurotransmitters in the brain.
Ambulax is used to treat anxiety disorders and anxiety caused by depression.
Ambulax is also used to treat panic disorders with or without a fear of places and situations that might cause panic, helplessness, or embarrassment (agoraphobia).
It is dangerous to purchase Ambulax on the Internet or outside the United States. The sale and distribution of medicines outside the U.S. does not comply with safe-use regulations of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These medications may contain dangerous ingredients, or may not be distributed by a licensed pharmacy.

Ambulax XR may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Ambulax XR should never be shared with another person, especially someone who has a history of drug abuse or addiction. Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it. Do not crush, chew, or break a Ambulax extended-release tablet. Swallow the tablet whole. It is specially made to release alprazolam slowly in the body. Breaking the tablet would cause too much alprazolam to be released at one time.
